Here’s some upd8 art, anyway.

Okay, so DD’s Red Miles is obliterating Derse.

And Jane got there through the transportalizer.

And Dirk was already there because he can be awake at the same time in Derse and the real world.

And Jake got there through shenanigans. That’s what the character selection screen is for. It shows everyone’s progress simultaneously.

But… Roxy? I bet she’s floating somewhere far, far away from Derse.

Wait wait… Does that mean the more violent troll world is controlled by UU, and the nice one is controlled by uu?

Well… Strictly speaking, no.

If we assume that Beta = Pre-Scratch and Alpha = Post-Scratch, UU’s pieces would be John, Jade, Rose and Dave, and the twelve troll ancestors. On the other hand, uu’s pieces would be Jane, Jake, Karkat, etc.

The pre-Scratch side, conveniently, loses the game, as UU just did.

I don’t see how this would make any sense at all, though, I just noticed that a lot of things seem to be symbolically related.

You are conscious that there are 2 sets of 16 pieces, one on each player’s side, right?

And that there are two sets of 12 trolls and 4 kids (12+4=16), right?

And that the SBURB Beta is green and the Alpha is red…

right?
